Shared Shuttles is a booking service, not a private hire operator. We take your booking and payment, find others to share your shuttle if you share, and send every trip to Premier Taxis Salisbury, a private hire firm licensed by Wiltshire Council.

Who we are
Shared Shuttles is a small Salisbury booking service for shared and private shuttles from Salisbury station: to Old Sarum castle and Avebury. You book and pay with us online, and others heading the same way can share your shuttle, so the more people share, the less you each pay.
Our story
We started at Salisbury station, where getting to Stonehenge or Heathrow meant a pricey taxi or a long wait for a bus. We add new stations as our local driver partners join.
Who runs the shuttles
The shuttles are run by Premier Taxis Salisbury, a private hire firm licensed by Wiltshire Council. Every booking we take goes to them under their licence, and their licensed drivers and vehicles do every trip. They pick up at the drop off point near the main entrance of Salisbury train station.
How sharing works

Choose Shared shuttle. Pick the day and a pickup time, or join a shuttle that’s already going.

We hold your price. We hold the price you chose on your card. Nothing is taken yet, and your final price can only be the same or lower.

Others join your shuttle. People heading your way the same day, up to 8 in the vehicle, in groups of any size. We email you each time someone joins.

Your price drops as people join. Everyone pays an equal share of the fare, plus one booking fee per booking (from £3.63 each). 2 hours before pickup we take your final price and release the rest of the hold.
Why we started with Old Sarum castle
Old Sarum castle is 2.1 miles from Salisbury station, too far for many visitors to walk and uphill at the end. A whole shuttle for one person feels like a lot for a 6 minute ride. Sharing it with someone going the same way halves the cost.
So we set out to do it well: one fixed price, clear meeting points, and a licensed local firm doing the driving.
